Whisky Maker's Notes
In 1955, Jaguar introduced the most celebrated and competitive derivative of the D-Type, with the striking “Longnose”. The D-Type’s streamlined body was meticulously designed to reduce drag and optimise performance.
Its distinctive fin extended from the driver’s headrest to the rear and became a defining visual characteristic. This fin not only enhanced stability at high speeds but also contributed to the car’s iconic silhouette.
Initially powered by a more powerful 270bhp version of the legendary XK 3.4-litre inline-six engine, the D-type was capable of speeds up to 190 mph, making it one of the fastest cars of its era.
The whisky is a minimum age of 35 years old and drawn from 6 casks. 3 Pedro Ximenez sherry-seasoned European oak hogsheads impart RICH FRUIT and WARM SPICES while 2 oloroso-seasoned American oak casks bring VANILLA and CINNAMON, finally an American oak refill hogshead delivers delicate LIGHT OAK notes.
