Distillers Dram Edition No.2

Edition No.2

Distillers Dram

Since 1763, The Glenturret’s enduring legacy has been formed by visionary owners and skilled distillers. From one generation to the next, precious knowledge and time-honoured traditions have been patiently practiced and handed down. In 1957, after decades of silence, The Glenturret was revived by James Fairlie. His ambitions to preserve the traditional methods of distilling and to grow the appreciation for Scotch whisky remain ever present. While processes and ownership may change, the soul of The Glenturret remains in the hands of its people.

The Glenturret

Generations of Distillers

The Distillers Dram Edition No. 2 celebrates Kenny Smith and Robert Paterson, whose combined 30 years of dedication spans the full whisky-making journey – from mashing to spirit handling and maturation. Kenny’s steady presence and meticulous eye ensure every cask is filled with precision – a role built on deep experience and quiet strength. Robert brings distinctive character, weaving skill and personality into every batch, with a touch of west coast peat and energy that fills the still house. This one-off release is a tribute to their craft – a whisky of depth, texture and harmony, shaped by two individuals whose stories live within the spirit of The Glenturret.

Tasting Notes

The Distillers Dram Edition No.2 is crafted from four European and American oak sherry seasoned casks and includes a careful balance of both peated and unpeated spirit. The resulting complex flavours of dried fruits and sweet spice work in perfect partnership with notes of gentle entwining wood smoke.

A vibrant union of SWEET DRIED FRUITS – SULTANAS and RAISINS lifted by ORANGE PEEL. Gentle WOOD SMOKE entwined with rich TREACLE and TOFFEE APPLE. A creamy, textured finish wrapped in SWEET SPICE and CITRUS VANILLA

Their roles form an integral part of seamlessly overseeing the intricacies of distilling, from barley through to filling, maturation and spirit development.

The Distillers Dram Edition No.2 whisky reflects the strong partnership between Kenny and Robert. It is inspired by the important roles of both distillers as they work together, managing the creation of spirit through to its maturation and development into a single malt. The Glenturret’s Distillery Manager, Ian Renwick, has created this highly limited release to explore and celebrate the differing characteristics of each distiller and the distinctive qualities that they bring to our spirit.

At The Glenturret, we continue to honour our past, preserve our traditions and practice the hard won wisdom of our craft, one generation at a time.
