We are delighted to announce The Gleneagles Hotel and The Glenturret Distillery have continued their collaboration with the launch of a special limited edition 18-years-old single malt whisky, commemorating 100 years of history, elegance, and enduring charm at the 'Glorious Playground'.
Crafted in collaboration with The Glenturret’s Whisky Maker, Bob Dalgarno, this exclusive release captures the essence of Perthshire, resonating with the vibrant energy and natural beauty of the region. Its inviting bouquet unfolds with notes of warm ginger and cinnamon, evoking a sense of warmth and spice, complemented by a medley of sun-ripened summer fruits and caramelised sugar interlaced with luscious, dried fruits—sultanas, dates, and figs. Layers of ripe red berries burst forth, reminiscent of a summer harvest, mingling with velvety vanilla ice cream that offers a luxurious sweetness. Meanwhile, aged, burnished oak adds profound depth and complexity, whispering tales of centuries past and inviting the drinker on a sensory journey through Highland landscapes and timeless traditions.
Limited to just 600 hand-numbered bottles, each a testament to meticulous craftsmanship, this 18-year-old whisky embodies the shared legacy of Gleneagles and The Glenturret. Guests of the hotel and whisky aficionados can acquire these bottles exclusively at The Still Room, nestled within the hotel’s Retail Arcade, where over 200 exquisite whiskies await discerning enthusiasts
Daniel Baernreuther, General Manager at Gleneagles, reflects on the significance of this collaboration, stating, “This limited-edition release is a tribute to the vibrant history and cherished moments that define Gleneagles. It encapsulates the warmth and adventure of Perthshire, inviting whisky enthusiasts to share in our rich heritage. The partnership with The Glenturret Distillery celebrates our mutual commitment to craftsmanship and excellence, combining centuries of tradition with innovative spirit-making. It’s a testament to our enduring dedication to offering our guests the finest experiences and products that embody the essence of Scotland’s renowned hospitality and unparalleled natural beauty.”
Each 70cl bottle of this commemorative whisky is priced at £350 and includes a complimentary tour of The Glenturret Distillery, providing a deep dive into the artistry and craftsmanship of Scotland’s oldest distillery.
While 600 bottles will be available to purchase in total, only a handful will be sold to non resident guests via a ballot, while the rest will be released exclusively to hotel residents.
